The Roots Center
An inclusion program weaving progressive, project-based learning and individualized, evidence-based intervention within the school day.
We serve students with language-based learning disabilities, building learner agency and autonomy through curiosity, empowerment, and joy. Our integrated approach provides individualized intervention and support in partnership with inquiry-based, anti-bias curriculum so that all students can lead with their strengths and build a positive identity as they grow academically.
On a day-to-day basis, this looks like an inclusion program with students spending the majority of their time in class with their peers.
Students receive one-to-one intervention sessions for two hours per week, and small group support sessions 1-2 times a week, which occur in a private learning space. Their learning specialist joins their classroom for push-in support, and works in partnership with the classroom teacher to plan and implement instruction and support the student’s transference of skills.
