Char Sadler Financial Assistance Endowment

Charlene Sadler was the Business Manager at The Oaks for 23 years. Char, as she was known, began her career here in 1987 when the school’s founders called upon her to assist them during the busy second year of operation by volunteering her managerial expertise. She quickly became indispensable to the school and was offered the Director of Administration position later that year, moving on to become the Business Manager in 1990.

Char and her family have been fundamental to The Oaks since its inception. Char’s daughter, Christine Wipff, served as a Trustee and Char’s granddaughter, Cara, graduated from The Oaks in 1994.

It was because of this close connection to The Oaks that the Wipff and Sadler families created the Char Sadler Financial Assistance Endowment in Char’s memory upon her death in 2011. Her family donated $125,000 to seed the endowment. To honor Char’s legacy and commitment to providing a progressive education to all students, The Oaks Board matched that donation. Current community members continue to bolster the fund through generous donations.
