The Los Angeles River Rover visited The Oaks School. First grade and fifth grade had the opportunity to experience the Rover and engage in several activities that explored the LA River's past, present, and future. Throughout the week, the children shared about what they noticed, what they're wondering, and connections they made.

Curriculum Spotlight : What is Fair?
How do you solve an unsolved problem? Where do you turn to when Google doesn't have the answer? What skills will you need today to fathom the problems of tomorrow? These are the questions that were made for the MakerSpace.
In early September, the fifth and sixth grade students participated in field trips to kick-off the school year. Each day provided rich opportunities to spark interest in the year's coursework and bond as a class community.
