The Oaks Joins 350.org!!!
"Last year, millions of people from nearly every country on the planet were united by a common purpose: to build a powerful global movement to solve the climate crisis.
"October 24th, 2009 was called "the most widespread day of political action in the planet's history," with more than 5200 events in 181 countries. We increased pressure throughout the Copenhagen climate talks: we lobbied inside, we protested outside, and we organized thousands of candlelight vigils with partners around the world." -www.350.org
The Oaks School Community, led by our Green Committee and inspired by our school-wide commitment to our world, joined 350.org to help lift the world's voice at the Copenhagen climate talks. Our children's message made it onto their Website and even became the source for one of their posters!!
We are very proud of our students who already understand the importance of planetary stewardship and are so passionate about joining this growing movement.
