"You can't use up creativity- the more you use, the more you have" - Maya Angelou
There is certainly no shortage of creativity in our community, and Friends and Family day certainly proved that to be true. It was a joyous occasion to behold, from watching our adorable tricksters perform their routines, to observing our folk dancers gavotte around the gym.
It is always thrilling for me to see our children's art displayed so beautifully in Grant Hall, and to have the time and space to really absorb and admire the work they produced this past year.
In the Maker's studio, our third graders amazed us all with their whimsical Rube Goldberg devices, and our heritage Café was a feast of delightful delicacies.
Our poets performed their prose with aplomb, and our painters created lovely watercolors in our new green space. Our library hosted puzzle makers and game players, and there were family crest designers creating family symbols in our multi-age rooms.
Our Mighty K's lemonade stand raised a considerable sum of money to send supplies to a school in Africa that they have been working with this year.
It was indeed a very special day that I believe really reveals the heart of our community.
Eternal gratitude goes out to all the energetic volunteers, teachers, and staff for their tireless support in making this wonderful day possible!
