Learning at The Oaks
In alignment with our mission and philosophy, the academic program at The Oaks is designed to promote an intelligent mind, skilled hand, and compassionate heart. Through hands-on learning experiences and overarching curricular themes, students are supported and challenged to think critically and problems solve in an engaging academic environment. We believe in education the whole child and in developing the skills to critically evaluate issues, have the moral conviction to respond as agents of change, and exhibit an ethic of care in the service of others.
Students at The Oaks learn by doing. Our experienced faculty use teaching methodologies based on progressive learning theories to design curricula that integrate program subjects in order to enhance children's ability to grasp concepts, construct meaning, see relationship, and retain meaning. Students are in a safe environment for asking questions, making mistakes, and becoming life-long learners. The goal is for students to master essential academic skills and to love learning.
