Graduates

Middle School Placement

We use detailed progress reports in K - 6th grade that include narratives and skill continuums. Our sixth graders fare very well in the middle school placement process, attending a range of independent, charter, and public middle schools. Middle schools work closely with our Head of School, Ted, and Assistant Head of School, Patty, during the placement process.  The schools have a deep understanding of how to interpret our progress reports and appreciate the ability to see the demonstrated growth of our students.  They also take into consideration standardized test scores, student and family interviews, and letters of recommendation. We work closely with students and families on all of these aspects throughout the process.  Below are the schools our graduates have attended over the past five years.

Staying Connected

Our graduates maintain a deep connection with The Oaks long past their graduation ceremony. You can expect to see them visiting at the Winter Sing or Graduation and helping out in P.E. class or in the art room. Each spring we invite the buddies of that year's graduating class back to the school to reconnect. The soon-to-be high school graduates offer the 6th graders advice and the students enjoy reconnecting with one another as they prepare to graduate.

To hear more about The Oaks experience from students themselves, please read our Graduate Spotlights. If you are a graduate of The Oaks School and wish to stay in touch, please click here to share your contact information.

Acorn Admission

Siblings of current students and children of alums (fondly referred to as Acorns) are welcome to apply September 1-November 15 of the year prior to the start of Kindergarten. Acorn applications are evaluated by the same criteria as other applicants. While a graduate and sibling relationship is not a guarantee of admission, The Oaks strives to provide the same educational experience for all children in a family. Please contact the Admission Office at Admission@OaksSchool.org with any questions.

I believe there is an undeniable, magic little something that
connects all Oaks students, past and present.”
